This picture of the 1980 Ducati 900ss Classic Motorcycle shown above was taken on location at the London Excel Motorcycle Show on 4th February 2007. This Ducati 900ss was short listed for Classic Bike of the year 2007. When the owner David Weiss bought the Ducati 900ss it was in a quite sorry state it was painted in all different colours and it didn't look like a motorbike at all. David set about restoring this Ducati 900ss but it was the first Ducati motorcycle engine he had ever worked on. David thought it was an easy task until he found out that everything had to be precise. David said that the engine was packed in a box because the crank had gone, when he tried to press the crank together he found that it did not go too well, so he took the Ducati 900ss to Nigel Lacy of Lacy Engineering for help with the restoration of the Ducati 900ss Classic and to complete the restoration David got a helping hand from Dave Dare for Paintwork finish. |
