Ducati 748 Super Sport Bike another photograph taken on location of the 2007 Motorcycle World Show held on the grounds of Beaulieu National Motor Museum on
23rd June 2007. This Ducati Super Sport Bike is almost identical to the Ducati 916 Motorcycle, the only difference is that the Ducati 750cc sport bike is fitted with a smaller engine and a narrower rear wheel. On the Ducati 748 Sport bike the Ducati engineers have shown faith in continuing with the Desmodromic technology for the engine valve system since. The Desmodromics technology was not actually developed by the Germans for their Mercedes racing car. In 1910 a guy called Arnott revealed the first desmodromic timing system an "shaped annular cam" that moves a rocker arm. In 1920 the French manufacturers Bignan build a sports car powered by a desmodromic engine: the valve control is a very special system, based on a "skew disc circular cam". |
